Jim gets demoted

Outgoing House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Sensenbrenner will relinquish the gavel when the Republicans become the minority party in January. He was reportedly seeking a position as the Ranking Member on the committee in the new Congress. Unfortunately for Jim, that position will go to Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX).

To add insult to injury, Sensenbrenner didn't get a Ranking Member spot on any other committees. He has been serving in the House of Representatives since 1979.

WisPolitics has the list of new Ranking Members in PDF format.

Seig Heil, Sensenbrenner!

Has anyone else noticed the uncanny resembelence? (see cafepress pics, couldn't resist)

And what's that malaraky about Sensenbrenner just happening to win a 250,000 lotto ticket in DC in 1997? And what are the changes of that, do you suppose? (Pretty good if you vote the 'right' way, maybe?) Oh right, I believe that one is on the up and up. No chance of corruption, there. No sir. Clean as whistle. As honest and pure as D.C. government can be, you can "bet" on that. (But you won't win in D.C. unless you're "Lucky" James "Seig Heil" Sensenbrenner, that is.)
