"Sensenbrenner should resign'

From Milwaukee BizBlog:

Dear Congressman Sensenbrenner:

I believe it may be time for you to move on.

To say I was flabbergasted by what I read this morning about your trip to Liechtenstein would be an understatement.

What color is the sun on your planet?

Your constituents are fighting for their economic survival. They are struggling to keep their homes. Some of them have been laid-off or experienced foreclosure. Your actions are a slap in the face to each of us trying to work harder, create and save jobs, and set an example for our employees, neighbors and children...

Mr. Congressman, as the owner of three businesses, I see every day the anxiety in my clients' and customers' eyes. They struggle to keep their doors open. Worry about getting credit from the bank to make payroll. Or question if they even have enough money in their grocery budget to buy a six-pack of beer.

Junkets and freebies are no longer acceptable...

You have had a long and impressive career. I have admired your conservative voice in the crowd of moderates. But perhaps there are other conservatives standing in the wings who know what it is like to sign the front of a paycheck, not only the back...

You no longer have my support or my vote.

Sincerely,

Craig J. Peterson
Chairman and CEO
Zigman Joseph Stephenson
Buffalo Water Beer Company
Hunter Industries
Does Peterson see himself as a conservative alternative "standing in the wings who know what it is like to sign the front of a paycheck?" Don't expect him to run, but maybe it's crossed his mind.

I think the Republican bosses are putting out word that there is a need for a generational shift.
They want to find a "Paul Ryan from that district," (real quote) to take a seat in Congress.
The new member, presumably Republican, can learn the ropes while in the minority party, and will be seasoned by the time of The Enlightenment, when the Harding-Coolidge-Hoover faction will once again dominate the legislature.
They might have to use the too-old argument, but the frightening fact is Sensenbrenner is only the third-oldest member of Congress from Wisconsin and would have to live an astonishing five more years just to catch up with the far younger David Obey.
Sensenbrenner should retire to his castle in Liechtenstein.

Hypocrites here one and all. Forgetting to address the far more wasteful left, Pelosi, and numbers high and low WI politicians who have gone on personal trips that had NO govt relevance. DEMS are determined to tax and steak teh pockets of taxpaying citizens to death. Literally. WAKE UP

I love the last post. Pointless whining from the right... no facts, no actual opinions, just empty rhetoric. Well, we know what you're against: being out of power -- is there anything you are actually for? Maybe we should dissolve gov't and barter with gold and silver while we ride around on horseback with rifles strapped to our backs. I imagine you would say that was progress! Ha!
